Profhilo - the new standard for skin rejuvenation in Oslo
Profhilo - the new standard for skin rejuvenation in Oslo
Dental & Dermal is an aesthetics clinic in central Oslo, located at Fridtjof Nansens Plass 9, run by Chenxiao Li. We offer Profhilo as part of our skin perfusion treatments - and more patients are discovering why it has become the gold standard for skin rejuvenation.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a biostimulator - not a traditional filler. It doesn't fill wrinkles or add volume. Instead, it stimulates your skin's own production of collagen and elastin, improving skin quality from the inside.
The product consists of ultra-high concentration hyaluronic acid (64 mg/2 ml) - the highest available without chemical cross-linking agents. This makes Profhilo unique: it spreads evenly through the skin and draws moisture into the tissue without creating lumps or volume.
How does the treatment work?
Profhilo is injected at 5 points per side of the face (10 points total), using the BAP technique (Bio Aesthetic Points). These points are strategically chosen for optimal distribution:
- 2 points on the cheek
- 2 points along the jawline
- 1 point at the temple
The entire treatment takes 15–20 minutes. There's minimal pain - most people describe it as a small prick followed by a spreading sensation.
Treatment plan and results
Profhilo requires 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Results build gradually:
- Week 1–2: Skin feels more hydrated
- Week 4 (second treatment): Visible improvement in elasticity
- Week 8–12: Optimal effect - firmer, glowing skin with better texture
Results last 4–6 months before maintenance treatment is recommended. Most people do 2–3 treatment cycles per year.
Who is Profhilo suitable for?
Profhilo is ideal if you:
- Notice your skin has lost elasticity and glow
- Want better skin quality without changing your facial shape
- Are 30+ and want to proactively prevent ageing
- Feel your skin looks tired, dry, or "flat"
- Want a natural treatment without visible signs of "work done"
It works on the face, neck, hands, and décolletage.
Profhilo vs. filler - what's the difference?
| Profhilo | Filler | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Skin quality and elasticity | Volume and contouring |
| Result | Glow, firmness, hydration | Fullness in specific areas |
| Technique | 10 points, self-distributing | Precise placement in target area |
| Duration | 4–6 months | 6–18 months |
| Who it's for | Those wanting to look "fresher" | Those wanting to change shape |
Many combine both: Profhilo for overall skin quality, filler for specific corrections.
What does Profhilo cost at Dental & Dermal?
A complete Profhilo course (2 treatments) typically costs 5,000–7,000 NOK per treatment. Maintenance treatments 2–3 times annually keep results stable.
Preparation and aftercare
Before your Profhilo treatment, we ask you to avoid blood-thinning agents (ibuprofen, omega-3) for 3–5 days to reduce the risk of bruising. No other special preparation is needed.
After treatment:
- Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours
- Don't massage your face for the first 6 hours
- Avoid makeup for the rest of the day
- Small bumps at injection points disappear within 24–48 hours
Most people can return to work immediately after treatment - possibly with slight redness that fades quickly.
